Wearing panties while sleeping can be irritating. Indeed, the friction of the tissue against the genitals can cause an unpleasant sensation. On the most fragile vulvas, this friction can also cause itching or burning.

 Fungal infections

It is better to do without panties at night because this bad habit can also lead to fungal infections, especially if you wear synthetic underwear. Indeed, a panties will increase the heat of the vulva and retain moisture, which will create an environment conducive to the proliferation of bacteria and microorganisms such as fungi.

Urinary tract infections

If you suffer from repetitive urinary infections, wearing underwear at night is strongly discouraged. Indeed, wearing panties at night can even be the cause of repeated cystitis.

According to Jean-Marc Bohbot, "the panties can promote the transition of germs that come from the intestine, via the anus or bladder, to the vulva, and therefore cause urinary tract infections. ". If you are not subject to it, beware, because these warnings are valid for all women.

When you sleep, it is better not to wear panties to let breathe your private parts.
If you are bothered by this idea, choose a pair of loose pajama pants in which you feel comfortable. And if you really can not do without panties, avoid synthetic materials, too tight cuts and prefer green lingerie.

 And the men in all that ?

For men, it's a bit the same but for different reasons. Indeed, a recent study by researchers at Stanford University (USA) and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development has shown that this practice affects fertility.

To reach this conclusion, the researchers followed 500 men for one year to evaluate the quality of their sperm. Those who wore loose underwear and slept naked at night had sperm in better shape than those who wore tight underwear day and night. The latter have 25% more lesions in their DNA, which therefore affects their viability and may even lead to risks of prematurity for the future baby.
